The narrative is... urh. No movie has ever been a more insignificant story. Can it be you ask, a musical account of this real story of the way Abba singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad was born in 1945 as a consequence of a Nazi strategy to enhance the Aryan gene pool by breeding German soldiers with former moms? No. Meryl Streep plays with Donna, a former hippie and totally free soul who runs on a B&B on a dreadful Shirley-Valentine-style Greek island. Donna has encouraged her best friends Rosie and Tanya into the function. But about Sophie's long-lost dad, the man who had his way with Donna and scarpered those years back? In any event, it is a coy type of scooter that leaves the personality deeper in the cupboard than ever. Mamma Mia! Ties itself in knots trying to shoehorn in each famous series, and every time, the launch of an Abba song triggered me a Pavlovian stab of enjoyment, cancelled following a millionth of another with a backwash of anger this soulless panto has done nothing to make or perhaps comprehend that the fantastic feeling.
Some tunes are easier to include than many others. Waterloo is stored for the final credits, possibly because screenwriter Catherine Johnson did not grasp its high quality quality, which she wouldn't actually need a huge Napoleonic military to troop throughout the island.
