It would be hugely misleading to predict Eli Roth's Death Wish a picture of this contentious 1974 film, roughly a mild-mannered guy who becomes hooked on vigilante violence following the attack of his daughter along with also the murder of his spouse. The activity is forgettable and the storyline barely holds together. Any effort to take the topics critically, which the film occasionally invites the viewer to perform, yields unpleasant and disturbing takeaways about why it is apparently totally okay for a few people to perpetrate acts of horrible unlawful violence, but not okay for anybody else.
